The subject matter of my art during my artistic career has been varied, ranging from complete abstraction to complete realism. Only in the past 15 years or so have I found my niche, creating from subject matters that I feel “right at home” with. This most recent art has focused on the marine and wildlife subject matter of the Great Lakes region. To become known as a regional artist is a dream that I’ve always held and recreating these scenes that I’ve encountered is a gift that I will always cherish.
As well as varying the subject matter that I've worked with over the years, I have also attempted various medium. Of all the medium that I have worked with, watercolor is my all time favorite and is the medium that I use most often.

Great Lakes Marine Art, Originals
My marine originals have been derived from events that I have actually witnessed. Living in Duluth,MN has given me a front row seat in observing the coming and going of not only Great Lakes vessels but also ships from all corners of the world. To recreate these experiences for the viewer, I work from photos and sketches made on the scene in order to make the episode as accurate as possible.
Great Lakes Wildlife Art, Originals
Just as with my marine originals, my wildife originals are based on actual events that I have been fortunate enough to have been part of. Growing up in Ely, MN of northeastern Minnesota gave me the benefit of many hunting and fishing trips that made the interaction with wildlife possible. Photos taken at the scene as well as working from available taxidermy mounts enable me to reconstruct a particular occurrence for the viewer as accurately as possible.
Prints of the Great Lakes Region
My prints are derived from my original watercolors and are all limited editions of 500 signed/numbered unless otherwise stated. The Giclee prints are printed on Arches watercolor paper with the highest quality inks. The remaining prints are printed through the offset process and also with the highest quality inks on acid free paper. In most cases, other image sizes are available other than the sizes given.
