This writing desk is just under seven feet long from end to end. The concave curved edge of the top wraps around you when sitting at it. The top is nice and thick (1.75") and has a softly sculpted, wide, rounded over edge in the area where you sit. This makes for a very comfortable place to lean your arms when sitting at it. This desk is very comfortable to sit at and use. David carves the legs with a combination of hand and power tools, with many, many hours of hand work to achieve the refined sculptural form.
